Betters on Polymarket support Nick Szabo in HBO's cryptocurrency documentary investigation into the identity of Satoshi.
The HBO documentary “Money Electric” claims to unveil the identity of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
- Memecoins inspired by Len Sassaman have risen across various cryptocurrency networks.
The new HBO documentary titled “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery” aims to solve the long-standing mystery of who Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin [BTC], truly is. Directed by the filmmaker known for revealing the identity behind QAnon, it is expected to shed light on one of modern technology’s biggest secrets.
Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts and bettors on sites like Polymarket are now suggesting that Leonard “Len” Sassaman could be Nakamoto.
This documentary, released on October 8, intends to reignite discussions surrounding theories about the creator of Bitcoin that have been ongoing since its inception in 2009.
Polymarket odds are changing.
Nick Szabo has also emerged as a top candidate for Satoshi Nakamoto on Polymarket in the upcoming HBO documentary. Just a day ago, bettors set a 27.9% chance for Szabo being Satoshi, ahead of cryptographer Len Sassaman at that time with 14%, and Blockstream CEO Adam Back with 4.3%.

For those who don’t know, Sassaman initially led with a 68% chance shortly after the market opened on October 4.
However, he saw a drop in support following statements by producer Colin Habbek on CNN.
Is Sassaman not Satoshi?
Habbek revealed that he met someone who believes they are the real Satoshi and actually dismissed Sassaman, who passed away in 2011.
We present a strong case, and I believe their reaction is in some ways more telling than the evidence itself.
Meredith L.
Patterson said,
I kind of wonder if I am against prediction markets by answering honestly when people ask me, but briefly.
However, according to the latest updates from Polymarket, Nick Szabo was at 10.3% at the time of publication, with Adam Back trailing behind at 9.6%.
Surprisingly, despite the emerging reality, Len Sassaman still led the bets with 12%.

The Memecoin sector is benefiting from the buzz.
Despite the ongoing drama surrounding the identity of Bitcoin’s creator, some traders have found opportunities to profit from themed tokens.
In recent days, memecoins inspired by cryptographer Len Sassaman—who many believe could be introduced as Satoshi Nakamoto in an HBO documentary—have emerged on Solana [SOL], Ethereum [ETH], and BTC networks.
Opportunistic traders launched LEN tokens on these platforms, achieving multi-million dollar market valuations, although they subsequently lost some of those gains.
A LEN token claiming to be the first token launched on SOL experienced a significant price surge last week, currently valued at over $1.6 million.
Additionally, SASHA tokens, named after Sassaman’s cat, have reached a market value of over $5 million.

Crypto enthusiasts have even reached out to Meredith L. Patterson, Sassaman’s widow, via X (formerly Twitter) for guidance on these memecoins, in exchange for which they receive a Solana address for token donations.

Interestingly, some traders have created tokens based on Sassaman’s pets, including his cat Sasha, while others believe that another cat named ODIN was Sassaman’s first cat.
